Nestled in the heart of Columbia, SC, my story began in the mid-1970s, surrounded by the serene beauty of creeks, a short stroll to tranquil ponds, and a hour's walk to a nearby river. My earliest memories are rich with experiences of foraging for wild varieties of berries, plums, grapes, and learning about the natural treasures of the woodlands.

As a child, playful days were spent in the neighboring creeks, where the joys of discovering crayfish, tadpoles, and small fish were endless. My area as a child, teemed with wildlife, it was my playground, classroom and nurtured my deep and lasting connection with nature.
